With school holidays upon us, well those fortunate enough to have them, I thought I’d entertain the idea of change and it’s effect on life. Ye olde saying “a change is as good as a holiday” certainly seems to ring true when the change is positive, from a fancy new haircut, to new clothes, rearranged furniture or even a new job. These things change two things in general; your own perception on things and the way people perceive you.
At the moment I’m looking at 2 possible changes in my working life, both of which I eagerly await the outcomes of:
- My current position is set to combine with 2 others and evolve out the other end as a combination of 2 jobs. Potentially this means an increase in pay for me as the other jobs pay slightly higher. The greater pay-off is that I will get to learn a few extra, more complex things. We may also be relocating our office, in terms of the floor we’re on, but everyone is in the dark about that too….
- I have applied for an external position and patiently await to hear the outcome. The position is a ministry position within a Church, and would be an answer to prayer; since MTS Challenge Conference last year I’ve been wanting, and praying, to be able to serve The Lord in a fulltime capacity that was more tailored to my technical skills, rather than in Word ministry.
Any change is only very minor when compared to the eternal change that is realised through a persons faith in Jesus Christ and his death on the cross for the sins of the world. The change that the person undergoes is a life changing one, not just perception, and not just limited to life on Earth, rather it has eternal consequences.
If you haven’t repented of your sins and put your faith in Jesus Christ, then I whole-heartedly urge you to do
so!! If you want to know more, drop me a line and ask. There are a number of frequent sojourners here that would be more than delighted to chat about it and help you along the way.
