Passage: Genesis 45:1-46:7

In the reading today we see the final unravelling of what we’ve been building and building up for pretty much the whole week: the revelation that Joseph is still alive to his brothers, his father and the rest of his family.

Passage: Genesis 43:1-44:34

We see Jacob’s family sitting back and avoiding the confrontation with Joseph and Egypt during the famine until they run out of grain. Then they needed to face the music and return to Egypt, this time, reluctantly, with Benjamin, Jacob’s youngest and now favourite son, after Joseph.

The whole reading seems like a little bit of nothing, full of mind games…
