Passage: Genesis 45:1-46:7

In the reading today we see the final unravelling of what we’ve been building and building up for pretty much the whole week: the revelation that Joseph is still alive to his brothers, his father and the rest of his family.

The most interesting thing in this passage is what Joseph says to his brothers here in Genesis 45:5-8, that it was God that sent him to Egypt, in preparation for the famine that was upon them.

At the end of the reading, we see God speaking to Jacob again in a dream, re-iterating His promise of making a nation of his descendants.
